I am publically committing myself to share my food consumed for 7 days in a bid to ensure I stick to my plan.
I will photograph each of my three meals and blog each day starting tomorrow what I have eaten and extra exercise I have taken. I signed up for a 6-week countdown at Slimming World tonight and I am guns blazing to achieve my target weight ideally within the 6 weeks, averaging at just over 2lb a week I should manage it if I can keep focussed, avoid life's curveballs and keep myself happy. I do have marathon training starting this week too for my next night hike in May of walking 26.2 miles of the Moonwalk (and no I am not doing in backwards!)
Went grocery shopping tonight and am all set for a 7-day meal plan to follow... watch this space!!
Well it's the end of week 1 in Jan 2013, I'm back at work, kids still off school so not quite the usual routine but I have been out and about desperately trying to shake off the last of my poorlyness (not sure that is even a word!) that has insisted on hanging around for some time!
I had the day off work on Friday to go and see Loose Women filmed live, in the audience, with guest stars Matt Cardle (you've all heard of him right?...lol!) and Claire Balding. Both great on the show which was a heap of fun, especially seeing all the fun and pranks on set in the advert breaks (audience dancing Gangnam style for Janet Street Porter!) We hung around after the show in the hope of seeing Matt and getting my album signed (I missed the official album signings last year when Jamie was sick) and luckily the gorgeous man stopped for the few fans who were waiting. Got a hug, another photo (well a girl can never have too many) and my album signed too! Happy Ann. Oh and if you have the latest issue of The Scrapbook Magazine you will have seen my "wishes do come true" layout in there featuring the lovely man himself!
After Caroline and I grabbed a late lunch at TGi, mmm, Jack Daniels ribs - divine and then I relaxed at home watching movies on the TV. Talking of movies I have seen Playing the Game this week which is the latest offering from Gerard Butler. Bit of a non-film really, not tempted to see again nor by on DVD even though he is in it!. Also saw The Hobbit on Wednesday with hubby in 3D and the effects were pretty cool I have to say. Next week it's Life of Pi (3D again) and Pitch Perfect (for a second time but with my daughter this time). I am determined to make the most of my Unlimited card and see at least two or three films a month.
I have started a few layouts this week too - all design team or crop classes so I will not be able to share until next week. I am excited to be looking at the new CHA releases too and what the scrapbooking industry has to offer us later this month for new goodies. I have already chosen one new range to design with at the ATDML retreat in April, very exciting!!
Hope you've all had a great start to your new year!
So not the day I originally had planned for us, but still we did enjoy our family day out on Friday. I had bought tickets for us to attend the kids Lollibop festival in Hyde Park, but being the complete donut that I am I wrote the wrong day down in all three diaries/calendars and it was the week before! So, thoroughly annoyed at having wasted the best part of £100 on tickets to an event I did not attend I was please when my friend Clare discovered Aldenham Country Park for me. Located just a half hour away in the car it features a nice lake to walk around, Woodland activities including a giant monkey net to climb (exhausting but fun!) and 100 Akre wood, recreated from the tales on Winnie the Pooh.
The boys had a great time, tearing around all day long and slept like babies!!
Now, I just need to find time to scrapbook these and the other photos from our summer in between all my walking! Am proud to say I completed 30k today as part of my training - I can tell you I am VERY much looking forward to the lighter training schedule next week of just three 10k walks and a 15k! (this week we did 8k, 10k, 20k and 30k!). I have now set my sponsorship page up as well, so if you wish to show your support of my walking a marathon in 5 weeks time for Cancer Research here is the place to go...
Every penny counts and I will be so grateful for your support!
I am well in to my training now for my walking marathon in September. I have done my 7k (on Monday) and slightly over the 10k tonight (11.1k) but still within 2 hours. I dropped 4.5lb last week, my biggest weekly weightloss ever earning me slimmer of week and my one stone award at slimming world, with a total weightloss so far of over two and a half stone. Just 19lb to go til I reach my target weight, which I could do by the time this marathon comes round - who knows?!
Ook I know we are only in July so for any non-scrapping friends reading this the blog post title will seem a little daft! October Afternoon is a paper manufacturer in the scrapbooking industry and I usually can either take or leave their product ranges - sometimes I really like them, other times I find them a little too quirky and whilst I love what I then see other designers do with these quirky, sometimes 50's styled papers, I can't replicate it myself as it doesn't fit with my style. Saying that I am not sure I necessarily have a style, but I know what I am trying to say. But then I saw this paper in their latest CakeWalk collection which is primarily a birthday range of papers.
If you want to see step by step instructions on how to make this page, pop over HERE to the ATDML blog where I did a post a few days back on this layout.
Other news my SHINE marathon training is going well. Since entering I have undertaken a 7k walk and an 11k walk, tomorrow sees another 11k and then next week I have to step up the training to two 10k walks and a 15k - that is over 6 hours of training, but despite getting soaked to teh skin on both walks so far I am loving it, and combined with my healthy eating I am hoping for another kick-start to my weightloss. I am still keeping off over 2 stone, but I have worked out if I can lose 2lb a week between now and the walk at the end of September I will be at my target weight! Not sure I will manage that but we will see, my overall aim is by November but the walking is definately going to accelerate that - just so long as I can resist the naughty food as well in the meantime. And just before I sign off and go make myself a cuppa, wanted to share this which really made me laugh this week!
Yesterday I signed up to walk the Cancer Research UK Shine Marathon in London on September 29th 2012. It is 12 weeks tomorrow and I started my training today as I have the day off work. Despite the horrid rain I walked 7.8km in 75 minutes, that is a shade under 5 miles. I have been browsing training plans and am going to need to get to 18miles walking in one go ahead of the big event. Time to start planning and crossing me fingers for less rain!!
I am been super productive this week plenty of those little jobs finished off hence the lack of blog update. We have decorators coming in tomorrow to assist us in completing a few more tasks too as we continue to win the battle against the house! Hoping the boys are old enough now that the decorating/new carpet will not be destroyed in five minutes, that being one of the main reasons we have held off since the loft conversion was completed almost 2 and a half years ago! Their rooms were all done but we didn't refresh the communal area stairs/hall etc whilst little finger prints were still capable of destruction in 10 seconds! Saying that Jamie is only 5 next month so I guess it could still happen!
Health and fitness wise I continue to win that battle and make great strides towards my goals. My second swimathon training session by far exceeded my aim of 40 lengths (which was an increase of 4 on last weeks 36) but instead I managed 50! That is half the distance I am aiming to cover in April. Took me 50 minutes to do, so my overall aim to complete 100 lengths in 90 minutes may be doable after all with some more training.
This week I also lost the largest amount of weight in a week since I have been slimming which did make me smile and just 3 more lb and I drop down yet another stone bracket! Still have 10 more weeks til my friends wedding and our cruise holiday to get a little more comfortable in my dress, but my weightloss journey will continue past this deadline so I don't see it as a finish line by any means. Didn't stop me enjoying a divine curry and beer with my husband last night either as we celebrated his 39th birthday and planned our trip to New York (fingers crossed) for his 4oth next year!
Finally, before I depart for what was supposed to be an early night(!) I wanted to share the full Simple Stories layout I taught at our ScrapMates debut crop for 2012 last weekend. Some of you may have already seen it in the ATDML gallery or indeed on their blog, but incase you haven't (non-scrapping friends!) here it is.
Four weeks ago I attended my first Boxercise class as my local gym. I have been a member since March but had not had the courage (nor the fitness) to contemplate this class. So I bit the bullet and went....AND LOVED IT!
So now, a month later I own my own set of gloves and pads, go to two classes a week and have lost even more inches round my waist. A pair of jeans that fit snug in January literally fell off me this week - good times!
