I did so much last week, and yet had no time to pop on here and update - sad really (but hey, the house is clean and tidy for a change!)
Wednesday last week we held a "wear pink wednesday" at work, organised by myself and a colleague where we baked PINK cakes and cookies, wore pink clothes and raised over £200 for Breast Cancer research.
On Thursday I was on a course all day updating my technical accounting knowledge on evaluating company's accounts - which (sadly) I found very rewarding and felt almost intelligent for a few hours!
Friday I was one of few Council officers at work to be part of a Young Persons Life Opportunities Commission workshop where 60 A-Level students from the area were invited to express their views on what the Borough should be doing for them, primarily to reduce the number of teenage deaths in the borough. I worked with a group of 4 students from one particular college who taught me so much, and reminded me of the enthusiasm to achieve I had at their age. A truly rewarding day nd one I was very proud to be part of.
Friday evening and I indulged Eloise in a trip to the cinema to see her beloved Zac Efron in HSM3 - which was the best of the 3 films yet, and I admit far more entertaining than I thought it would be, for once a hyped-up kids film worthy of it!
And the weekend was spent doing the housework, snapping several photos on the 25th (Shimelle course) and a few precious sunshine hours spent in the woods with my young adventurers!

Warm autumn sunshine, clearing leaves from the lawn, emptying the veggie beds and preparing them for next season, using some of my own compost and planting garlic and onion - a most productive Saturday outside, having completed the remainder of my electoral register round and done several loads of washing. Rewarded myself with a nice curry with Jude and Nicki on Saturday evening (doggie bag of left overs made for a scrummy lunch today!)
And speaking of today having had a rare Sunday morning lie-in, thanks to Ellie who had kept the boys amused downstairs and tidyed the living room and kitchen, we then had a family few hours out over Hilly Fields, where the kids played in the leaves and my camera captured a tonne of blurry photos! At least the non-leave throwing ones came out ok!

Can't believe I have been doing sketch layouts for the Canadian site Paws for almost 3 months now, boy how time flies when you are having fun. Think this week has to be one of my favourite layouts created so far using the sketches - though this could be to do with the photo of Robert which I love and the use of black, white and red - always striking.
Also I have the new Onirie papers here bringing much inspiration, I've not quite finished layout 1 but have started layout 2 already! Hope to share those in the coming days.

Took the kids to the park today, in the glorious autumnal sunshine, for a picnic and to collect some conkers. Robert filled his pot to the brim, but Jamie, funny little boy that he is, just wanted one conker in his pot, nothing more!!
House still feels emptier wihout Jinx, and her mum and brother are both displaying signs of missing her. Eloise decided that she would like another kitten to help her get over losing Jinx (not sure this was a great idea so soon) but nevertheless we now have a 3 month old bundle of fur called Roxy...photos to follow in a day or two. Still keep expecting Jinx to come proudly dashing through the cat flap with her latest rodent kill...

Am so sad today following an unexpected phonecall from the local vets informing me they had my youngest cat Jinx, just 4 years old, who had been killed following being hit by a car in the early hours of this morning. As we have all three of the cats chipped, they were able to contact me at work following identifying her via a scan of the chip.
I then had the unpleasant job of telling Eloise, not quite 12, that her cat had passed away, then digging a hole in the garden and burying her. I can't recall the last time I cried so much
