This time 7 years ago was one of the hottest days in June, and I recall the makeup artist (an old school friend of mine) having real trouble getting my wedding make up to stay on, and almost half a can of sparkly hairspray to make my hair stay in place due to the incredible heat. Well the warmth that day has stayed with me in my heart and I count my blessings to have been married to the most wonderful man for 7 years now. Here we are seven years on happy as ever

32 elephants and lots and lots of walking, today Clare and I found those on Park Lane, Kensington, Notting Hill, Paddington and a couple of odd ones in between! Great fun, but hard work! I have just 36 elephants left to find of the 258! Certainly more than enough for a minibook, or two, or three!!
And talking of scrapbooking I've another couple of pages to share, again created as part of the birthday celebrations at LCOM. Firstly we were challenge to scrap ourselves, with journalling a must. I based my layout on one I had seen in Scrapbook Trends recently that I like.
Secondly we had a colour challenge to create a layout in the LCOM forum colours BLACK, WHITE, BLUE & HOT PINK - perfect for Eloise's new pink highlights photos!
Now I have updated my blog, sorted my elephant photos and had a divine soak in the tub with LUSH Comfort bubbles, a face mask and plenty moisturising I am off to bed! TTFN x

Birthday bash sketch #9 has arrived, the last of the celebratory sketches for LCOM. The final sketch comes from hippy chick Sarah and is a lovely 8 1/2 x 11 sketch.
I am totally in love with my take on this sketch which started as a patterned paper from October Afternoon's thrift shop collection, which I them misted, stamped with Prima stamps, and grunged a little, adding acccents from Pink Paislee. Yes indeed, I do really like this layout.
Don't worry if you are sad that the LCTS 9-day stint of birthday sketched has come to an end. We'll be back this weekend with our standard weekly sketches, and this w/e the sketch will be by yours truly so be sure to check back!

More scrapping to share as I continue to join in with the sketch team fun celebrating one year of Let's Capture These Sketches. I am proud to be on the design team with these talented ladies, we have so much fun coming up with different sketches to inspire and they are a really supportive team of ladies to work with! Above is my sketch # 7 based on Heather's fab fab fab sketch. Her challenge was to incorporate masking tape and doodling onto the page. I twisted the sketch 180 and replaced the scallops with bunting (paper by Girls Papirie) and then used some of my yummy new Basic Grey Manilla and Basic Grey Kraft from the basics ranges.
My completely out of season Halloween page is based on sketch #8 by Renee who recently joined the sketch team. Renees challenge: Use at least 3 different pattern papers and 3 embellishments. My layout above used 2 different Glitz design papers and 2 different Rusty Pickle as well. Brads, gems and chipboard shapes were my three different embellishments.
Back tomorrow with my final layout for the final day of birthday celebrations - see you then :)

Still playing along with the birthday sketch challenges over at LCTS.
Today's sketch can be found here by the very lovely Guylaine and her challenge is to have a black title on your page. I almost made that, but used a couple of white letters for my elePHANTASTIC layout.
I'm 6/6 so far, with my virtual birthday cake piling up nicely! How are you getting along? Do post a comment to let me know and link to your creations, I'd love to see them all!

Dearest teenage daughter sporting her latest hair-do! A head of pink/purple highlights, which I think really suit her (but then again, I'm probably biased!) We are not long back from another Elephant Parade seeking morning in the city of London. Pleasantly surprised to find that the trooping of the colours was on as well! A real sight to see.
Some more beautiful elephants seen today as part of London's Elephant Parade this summer. We've found 190 now, with 68 to go, although a couple of those have been removed for the time being, but we're hoping to round up those we don't find on our travels later this month when they are all moved to Chelsea.
And finally, before I head off to snoozeville, sharing my LCTS Birthday Bash Sketch #5 based on Susan's sketch today and surprise surprise, I scrapped elephants!! Didn't manage to stick to the monocromatic challenge though, but I like it!
Back tomorrow with more to share :)
