Next class goes live at 6:00 pm ... a project that stands alone !

Ready for a challenge?

We've taken the recycling/reusing idea to heart here at Cdrecycle_3ScrapDreamie and so we challenge  YOU to come up with an innovative way of recycling old products/packaging/stash scraps/etc and creating your own work of art .. be it on a layout, a project or an altered object!  There are no restrictions what you may or may not do apart from it having to contain some recycling element in your design!

Deadline for emailing your entries to us is Midnight Monday 5th May

Have fun!

Class 3 : Time to play with...

.. paint!  That's right, get your paints out for a little messy play as Michele Beck shows us how she created this beautiful Love Story layout.

"Fancy" that!

We LOVE this gorgeous layout created by Sarah using the new MME 'Fancy' papers.   Sarah was over the moon because they matched her very first school photograph perfectly and, as they are heavy weight papers, they are perfect for distressing to achieve a vintage appearance.

This weeks Retailers Spotlight is on ...

This weeks featured retailer is ArtCards and we aked Karen to tell us a little about herself and how she came to change her career from the world of finance and into the papercrafting business:-

I'm Karen Young, just about to celebrate 25 years of Marriage to my wonderful husband and later in the year I will see my only son go off to University to start the long journey of becoming a Barrister - goodness knows how I will survive the first few weeks of the University year without him!!!!  I spent all my working life in the Finance industry until a couple of years ago when a few health issues made me think about what I really wanted to do with my life.  The answer came in a flash as I realised that it wasn't Finance that made me happy but my Scrapbooking and crafting so I made the momentus decision to leave my career and do what made me happy which was my online Scrapbooking and Papercrafting business ArtCards.  I've always been a crafter in some form or other be it crocheting, knitting, sewing, drawing or cardmaking but when I 'found' Scrapbooking (or did it really find me!!) it was like it was THE craft I had been waiting for all my life!!!  I know that probably sounds like a cliche but it really was like that and I have just loved the creative freedom it gives where nothing is ever 'wrong' and there really are no rules - how different from my very structured life in Finance!!!!  ArtCards has grown its product lines with the help of Scrapgenie and now stocks almost 2000 items in our online store where  I love being able to offer not only the latest New releases but other hidden gems as well, and often take special orders from customers when there is something they simply must have that I don't usually stock.  I also run a regular monthly crop in Somerset where we offer optional Scrapbooking classes and we have built up quite a following over the last year - the Crops are such a highlight for me as it is the time when I get to spend time with my customers and really understand what it is that they look for from their Scrapbooking and this helps me when I am deciding which lines I want to stock.  The icing on the cake for me this year was being published in a Magazine for the first time and then being asked to be a contributor as well - who'd have thought it!

ScrapGenie wishes Karen every success with Artcards!

Tomorrow we have more fabulous MME projects created by the Dream Team to share with you, so till then ...
